I used to play the trombone until one day I realized that trombone players were a dime a dozen. On the other hand, you have to hire the FBI to find a Banjo Player. So, I switched.

I play a four-string Tenor Banjo that is just made for jazz and Dixieland. For awhile, I headed up a small Dixieland band known as The Stinky Creek Jazz Band. We played a few gigs around town, and we had a lot of fun.

So, here's the rest of the story: This whole Stinky Creek business (the site, the writing, the videos, pencils and T-shirts), got started when people would ask if there really was a town called Stinky Creek. Well, I couldn't tell them the truth...so I didn't.

Anyways, I put up a Stinky Creek, Texas website (that you can still find HERE) as well as a Stinky Creek Jazz Band site (that you can find over THERE).

One of these days I'm going to get that group back together. It was too much fun to let it just fade away.
