Howdy!
|
He was right but didn't live to enjoy itBy Tracy Farr It's almost too weird to be believed, but a Crappie County woman admitted she was wrong, causing her husband to choke to death on a piece of meatloaf. George Ribert, 47, was taken to Crappie County Regional Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival. According to his wife, Sherry Ribert, the two were eating a meal together when a piece of meatloaf lodged in Ribert's throat. "We were discussing how we were going to pay the bills," said Ribert. "I thought we should do it one way and he disagreed. Then after thinking about it, I told him that he was right and I was wrong. And that's when he started to choke." Before calling 911, Ribert tried to dislodge the chunk of meatloaf from her husband's throat, but was not successful. "Before we got married 15 years ago, my Mamma said to never admit you're wrong to your husband," said a tearful Ribert. "He would still be here today if I had only listened." Sheriff Max Welter said no charges will be filed against Ribert at this time. |
