Spittoon readership increases

The publisher, editors, writers and the rest of the staff of The Daily Spittoon are proud to announce that more people are reading the paper than ever before.

We believe that the surge in readership is due to a two-point advertising campaign we've put into play.  One is the stinkycreektexas.com pencils that are available from any staff member, and the second is the mass mailing of emails to people who we think might have an interest -- no matter how slight -- in what we have to publish.

We at the Spittoon calculate our readership by the number of unique "hits" our website gets throughout the week.  Before our advertising campaign started, the paper was receiving between zero and three hits a day.  Since the campaign, we are receiving anywhere between zero and five hits a day.  That's a 200 percent increase in readership.

The next phase of our advertising campaign, which is in its beginning stages, is the sale of "Let's Get Stinky" T-shirts.  One has already been sold, and the response to it has been lukewarm -- which means we have a product that is somewhat worthwhile.

Again, we would like to thank our loyal reader (you know who you are) for making this publication what it is today, and we would like to extend an invitation to all the hundreds of potential readers to partake of what's inside each and every Spittoon.
