Up-to-the-moment Traffic Report

A large sink hole filled with water has developed at the corner of 2nd Street and West Bluebonnet.  Even though 8-pound bass and 30-pound catfish have been seen swimming in the water, please refrain from fishing the hole until civil engineers have a chance to determine if it's safe.  Once the engineers give the go ahead, the town council will close down the street and sponsor a "Catch the fish, Repair the street" fishing party.

Mrs. Myrtle Higgins' 1976 Red VW, which broke down in the 900 block of Elm Street back in 1983, is still there on the right side of the street as you're heading away from town. It's not actually in the way, so continue to go around it as usual. Mrs. Higgins great-great grandson says he'll be by to pick it up sometime in the future.

Address numbers painted on the curbs in the 900 block of South Lester will be repainted sometime this next week due to the previous numbers being washed away during the latest thundershower.  Curb painter Ted Bankster apologizes for accidentally using finger paint the last time and promises to use something a bit more permanent this time around.

The south entrance into Crappie County Memorial Park will be closed for three weeks due to concrete repairs.  Please use the northwest entrance except on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.  During those times it is okay to use the western entrance, except when it's cloudy.  On cloudy days use the northern entrance but don't exit through the southwestern entrance.  At all times drive the posted speed limits through the park unless you see a man waving a green flag on Friday nights, then it's okay to drive as fast as you safely can.  If you have any questions, call someone who knows the answers.
